a new year?
Mood : hopeful

i honestly feel that the new year is totally over-rated. i mean it is actually just a new day glorified by the fact that according to the gregorian calendar it's the start of another 365 days. damnit... alright stopping the negativity right now.
still it is a new year... a time where most people reflect back over the last year and wonder what they could've done differently and some even make resolutions for self-improvement but to this day i have yet to meet someone who has managed to stick to their resolutions. those of us who have had a crappy year will hope that the new year will be different than the last. and those of us who have had an absolutely smashing year... will still wish for a year better than the last as impossible as it may be.
as for me? i'm just hoping to get through the year unscathed and hopefully pick up on some souvenirs along the way...

the trip to singapore was actually pretty good considering how rushed it was. i managed to shop a little but most of all spend some time with my relatives there. orchard road wasn't as pretty this year (or last year i should say) but i guess you can't be expecting the decorators to outdo themselves every single year.
as usual there was a big feast prepared on christmas night. we had something different and unique that night. ever heard of a Tur-Duck-Ken? at least i think it's spelled that way. it's a turkey that has a layer of duck meat and chicken meat inside. though my mom kept commenting that it was a bit too much i felt that it was actually pretty good but due to the limited capacity within my stomach i couldn't consume as much as i would've liked. i also managed to quietly have at least 5 glasses of wine that night. hahha... i think the only one who noticed was my aunt but after all it was her wine i was drinking.

my sis wants to go again in february but i don't know if i'll be able to fit such a trip in since i'll be doing my industrial training in february. i also have a couple of classmates who would want to tag along too. hahha... we'll just have to see how things go won't we?
